Frilled Shark

"Frill" is not a word that most of us would think of when describing a shark. It sounds rather feminine, more like something we would use when describing a dress. We usually think of sharks as dangerous and beastly. How then do they go together? Frilled Sharks are an unusual variety of sharks, beginning with it's scientific name Chlamydoselachus anguineus, from the Greek chalmy ("frill") and selachus ("shark"), as well as the Latin anguineus for "snake-like."
